DO WE NEED AUROMIRA CENTRE?
We have to ask this question as we prepare to consider large scale refurbishment that will involve much time and effort and money. If the answer is YES, then we need involvement by everyone and not just the 10-15 or so of the devotees who regularly tend to the Centre. This applies particularly to keyholders who have the privilege of spontaneous entry to the Centre and who should in return serve The Mother by helping at the Centre.
Below, under item 7, is a list of the main areas where we need help and this needs to be a regular commitment.Please find below, some updates that will help you to decide how you can serve The Mother at Auromira Centre:

Refurbishment of the entire property is being considered in 3 phases.
Phase 1 will deal with parts of the ground floor in both buildings. A new room for reading and exhibition is being created, and this will be called the Mahasaraswati room. This will connect to the meditation room which is to be called the Maheshwari room. For this to materialise, various other projects within phase 1 will need to be undertaken. These include removal of the main kitchen on the 126 side into the kitchenette on the 124 side. There are other smaller projects within this phase that need to be undertaken to allow these works tobe completed.
An alarm system and a remote entry system will be installed. Once these are in place, then keys will be recalled.
Builders have been called, and we await their quotes. The works will commence when we have sufficient funds to cover the costs.
The use of the Mahasaraswati room has been discussed within the Matrugoda workshop group and a wider discussion of its use and that of other areas in the Centre will take place once phase 1 works are completed.
This phase is likely to be the most expensive but will also culminate in the most visiblechange.
Phase 2 will include refurbishment of the Maheshwari room and a redesign of the large room on the 124 side. The proposal for the latter is to create a small office at the back and a dining area in the front.
The Shrine and New Creation Hall will also be re-decorated. Phase 3 will include refurbishment of bedrooms, and this will allow guests to stay for a few days at a time, chargeable for a small fee.
Any help with the planning and overseeing of these projects will be welcomed by the Trustees.

Website
Our previous website was taken over by a third party for ransom. We have since created a new website and the address is: auro-mira.org
This is being designed and looked after by Veer and Dhyan.
It will be a very useful resource for information and updates on Auromira Centre, and it will, as before, house the readings that are sent out twice a week and, eventually, the Matrugoda Workshop readings.

Activities on Sundays
1st Sunday – Online Matrugoda Workshop from 11:30 am to 1 pm
2nd Sunday – Online Reading to The Mother from Savitri from 9:30 am to 10:30 am
3rd Sunday – Onsite Matrugoda Workshop in New Creation Hall from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm
4th Sunday – Online Reading to The Mother from Synthesis of Yoga from 9:30 am to 10:00
am, followed on most occasions by meditation with Veronik between 10 am and 10:30 am.
5th Sunday (from this month onwards) – Online Reading to The Mother from Essays Divine and Human from 9:30 am to 10:30 am

Every Saturday we read to The Mother from various books
There is ONSITE reading at Auromira centre from 9 am onwards and the books being read are Savitri, Letters on Yoga and The Mother’s Agenda
There is also ONLINE reading from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and the books being read are:
Savitri, Prayers and Meditations, The Life Divine, Questions and Answers 1929-31, andThe Mother with comments by The Mother

Re-introducing onsite reading
From September 1st, we are re-introducing an onsite reading session at Auromira Centre.
This will be a regular session on the first of each month (Prosperity Day) at 7:30 pm. The reading will be for an hour and the first book to be read will be The Human Cycle.
This reading session will be led by Shilpa
All are welcome to join this new session each month. On Prosperity Day, the centre will be
open to visitors from 7 to 8:30 pm.

Other activities - Suggestions are most welcome
We would like to see other activities taking shape at the Centre and we would also like to see an increase in footfall to add to the strong vibrations that are already felt at the Centre.
If you have activities in mind that you can arrange, organise and commit to, then please let us know.

Volunteers needed
The main areas we need volunteers to help are:a). Looking after flowersb). Cleaning (regular and Darshan days)c). Estate upkeep – regular DIY is essential to keep the Centre in a good conditiond). Care of guests from abroade). Onsite reading – any additional days other than every Saturday and every 1st of the monthf). Watering plantsg). Onsite caretakers – we need volunteers to commit regularly to short periods of time at the Centre to allow visitors to come and also to tend to some jobs. This is particularly pertinent to keyholders.h). Logistical arrangements of events, including Darshan Days, other programmes and lecturesi). Care of the library, bookshop and sales of some items such as agarbatis.

Auromira Centre does have a presence on Facebook and YouTube and any help to further
this would also be very welcome.
We hope that this update has helped to present a vision of what Auromira Centre is about and where it is heading and if you feel that we do need the Centre to remain, then please help as sincere volunteers.
